Strong Day

I felt crazy strong during and after my training today. I'm getting addicted to heavy kbs.

Double KB Jerks - 16 kgs - 8 x 6
-70 pounds of cast iron powered overhead. Fun!
RPE - 7

6 Rounds of
Double Cleans - 20 kgs - 5 reps
25 seconds rest
Goblet Squats - 24 kg (53 lbs) - 5 reps
25 seconds rest
-The first rep of the double cleans caught me off guard. I have never cleaned two 20 kg (44 lbs) bells before. I better be thinking about ordering another 24 kg bell. One won't be enough pretty soon. :)
RPE - 8

Very, Very Strong! I don't yet have the rhythm for jerks, that's why those Goblet Squats are what impressed me. Six rounds of five reps. Oh how the DOMS would get to me the next day.
Power to you Amy!

John,
The jerks took me a few weeks to get. I also had some issues to work through with Z to get my hips firing quickly enough.

I have had more trouble mastering the viking push press. Do you do those? They are killer!

BTW - I'm in raspberry heaven. I live for September when my patch is heavy with berries.

Yeah, I tried to follow along the viking push press section on the RTK video, but I need lessons! I think once I can get a little beyond the USST then I'll go for the more technical RKC II style exercises. Oh, I almost forgot... I admire those double cleans too. How are your legs doing today?

BTW, my friendly neighborhood farmer grows raspberries. It's heaven for about four months around here! :p

Good luck on the USST. I did it back in March - 200 reps in 10 minutes w/ 16 kg bell. Death by iron! I got 274 in the SSST.

My legs felt fine the day after the cleans. Go figure. I would have thought I'd be sore.

Today, it's viking push presses - 12x5 w/ double 12 kg bells. I also get to do double snatches. The fun never ends!! ;)

Oops! Did I say "USST"? I meant the SSST! Hey, are you still Agent 007 on the list?

I'm not sure if I'm still #7. I'll have to go check.
